The Woodbridge way...

Woodbridge Care is a therapeutic residential care provider for looked-after children, established in 2023 by directors Alwyn Morris and Helen Foster. Both directors bring extensive backgrounds in education, including teaching, leadership roles and residential settings, which inform their approach to creating nurturing environments.

In November 2025 we achieved an 'Outstanding' Ofsted Report'.

The purpose of our therapeutic homes are to give a safe and loving home to up to three young people aged 8-18.

A Therapeutic Approach

The homes operate as therapeutic communities, emphasising:

Healing from past trauma.
Providing consistent care in the present.
Equipping children with skills for a positive future.

Our adults receive thorough training in trauma-informed care, both practically and theoretically. Relationships within the home are central to the therapeutic process, fostering recovery and emotional growth. Our support for learners on the NVQ Diploma Programme was described by the trainer as "the best that I have known in a house".

Our children's placement with us are preferably planned (although emergencies are accommodated when possible), with a long-term investment in each child's development. This model aligns with best practices in trauma recovery for looked-after children, focusing on stability, relationships, and personalised support.

We support our children in so many ways with cooking, cleaning, playing, shopping, having conversations, driving , meeting family and friends, taking them to appointments, doing school work and homework, gardening, painting teaching life skills and planning... the list is endless.
